Spring Semester - 18 Weeks

Spring Semester starts the week of Monday, January 4th
End of Semester Recital "Premier Night" on Saturday, May 22nd

Fairytale Movement
Fairytale Movement classes showcases ballet basics as well as creative movement and Musical Theater. We'll showcase the pure joy of movement while your child learns proper French terminology, correct body placement and classroom etiquette wil also be taught. This class is designed for 3 to 5 yr olds.

Beginning Voice
Beginning voice is an introduction of the basic principals of vocal production, including breath control and tone production. Repertoire selected from Broadway and movie musicals. No prior vocal training required.

Acting for the Singer
This class is geared toward the singer who already has some training who wants to focus on stage craft as a singer. This class is useful for those preparing for auditions. Mock auditions will be held throughout the semester.

Broadway Cabaret
This class is an exploration of material from classical to contemporary Broadway to ignite the imagination of the young performer.

Pre Ballet
Basic ballet skills, terminology, rhythm, and coordination are taught, practiced, and developed through some creative movement, music, and mime in a supportive and supervised environment. This class is designed for ages 7rs to 10yrs.

Ballet I
This is the first formal ballet class. Emphasis on classical ballet skills with a focus on grace, proper placement and alignment. Students will learn ballet terminology through barre and center floor work while building strength and flexibility.. Most students will have little to no ballet exposure before this class.  Students will learn ballet terminology and developing a sense of work ethic as well. Stretching exercises more specific to muscle groups are introduced. 

Ballet II
Students in this level must demonstrate sufficient maturity, dedication, strength, technique, and proper body alignment to advance to the next level.   Rhythm, musicality, flexibility, and discipline continue to be emphasized, but learning proper alignment is the primary focus in this level.

Ballet III
Strength and balance are emphasized. Work continues on increasing flexibility. Proper leg and arm placement and their integration with movement are developed. Students entering the serious ballet program should be prepared for intense training.  This program is designed to prepare dancers later for pointe work

Pre Pointe
Prerequisite for any Pointe class. Teacher placement required for Pre-Pointe and Pointe.

Pointe
Student begins studying pointe under faculty's discretion after they have reached an advanced level of training. Student must attend at least one other ballet class per week.

Contemporary I
Contemporary dance is a fusion of jazz, ballet, hip-hop, lyrical and many modern dance styles, encouraging pedestrian-like movement. Contemporary is quickly becoming a mainstream form of dance that focuses on a natural way of moving while still incorporating the technical aspects of dance. Combined with the soulful expression of Lyrical this is a class that encompasses mind, body and spirit. Previous ballet training is required as well as current enrollment in a ballet. This class is not designed for beginner Dancers.

Contemporary II
A more abstract style of  Lyrical. A combination of intricate, highly technical, pedestrian/naturalistic moves and a connection to breath expressing emotions through movement. A song's lyrics are a driving force and key inspiration for the movement. Choreography is often emotional, gripping, and exquisitely delicate, all at the same time. A solid, ballet-based technique is an essential component of this advanced style of dance. Class will also focus on emoting, musicality, and center work as well as intermediate progressions. Previous ballet training is required as well current enrollment in a ballet class.

Modern Jazz
Fluid expression, using gravity pull and natural movement. This class is a fusion of Modern, Jazz and Ballet technique for the experienced dancer and the committed beginner. This class is not designed for the basic beginner.

Afro-Modern
challenges dancers to be grounded and free.  Dancers will explore the rhythms of Senegalese dances and modern choreography driven by the drumbeat with standing and locomotor movements.  Improvisation skills are also incorporated during the semester. Ballet is required for this class.

Jazz
An upbeat and fun filled atmosphere focused on improving technique, strength, and flexibility which will enhance students’ jumps, turns, and stage performance.  Please see individual teachers for proper placement in any class above level I.

Turns and Leaps I
Learn the techniques used to perfect the turns, leaps, and jumps seen in Jazz, Ballet, and Lyrical. This class will build balance, coordination, flexibility, and muscle memory.  This class is designed for the beginners and adv beginner dancers. This class will focus on the basic techniques of turns, jumps and leaps, which benefits dancers in all other dance forms.

Turn and Leaps II
Learn the techniques used to perfect the turns, leaps, and jumps at a adv. beginner level seen in Jazz, Ballet, and Lyrical. This class will build balance, coordination, flexibility, and muscle memory. This class will focus on the basic techniques of turns, jumps and leaps, which benefits dancers in all other dance forms.

Pom/Drill
Strong movement style routines to current music preparing the dancer for cheerleading and drill teams Students will learn all the skills required to tryout for a Pom squad. 

Pom/Dance
Strong movement style routines to current music preparing the dancer for cheerleading and drill teams Students learn the different styles of dance that are used on a Pom squads.

Pop Jazz I
Maintains the percussive, rhythmic characteristics that define Jazz, but it incorporates elements of Lyrical with a strong focus on technique and performance. This class is designed for the dedicated beginner to adv. beginner dancer. Ballet is required. Teacher Approval required.

Pop Jazz II
Maintains the percussive, rhythmic characteristics that define Jazz, but it incorporates elements of Lyrical with a strong focus on technique and performance. This class is designed for dedicated adv. beginner to intermediate dancer. Ballet is required. Teacher Approval required

Hip Hop I
The class begins with a basic warm-up to stretch and tone the body, followed by progressions and a fun and energetic routine.

Hip Hop II
The class begins with a basic warm-up to stretch and tone the body, followed by progressions and a fun and energetic routine. Previous hip hop required

Rhythm Tap
Classes will focus on strong technique, exploring musicality and rhythm, an appreciation of the history of tap dancing.
