MEET OUR STAFF
Kiima Morrison developed a love for dance and a passion for the arts at a very young age. She began her training at the British Ballet Academy in North Miami Florida. Her studies continued with Movements of Dance in Kingston, Jamaica. After returning to the stats Ms. Morrison continued dancing at Mary Lou Peters Dance Studio in Glenmont, Maryland, with the one and only Miss Mary Lou. At the age of 18, she was formally introduced to the world of Modern Dance under the professional instruction of Dr. Galeet Westreich and Helanius J. Wilkins. Since then, Ms. Morrison has started her own dance company Poetry N' Motion which focuses on dance styles such as Ballet, Modern, Jazz and Lyrical.
Giavanna Wright started dancing before she could walk. She loved it so much she went to University of North Carolina at Greensboro to study dance. Giavanna graduated from UNCG with a BFA in dance where she performed for choreographers such as B.J. Sullivan, Jan Van Dyke, John Gamble, and many student choreographers. After graduating in 2004, she moved back to the DC area and started teaching at Motion Mania and dancing with Motion Mania Dance Theater. Giavanna also has been performing with the FloydProject dance company since November 2005.
